Ros's Room

Room: Snug

We were tasked to bring the outside into this snug in a decadent way. Ros wanted to keep some of her own pieces - the bookcases, curtains and armchair, so we worked to integrate them into the space.

Ros knew she wanted wallpaper in the space so that is where we started. We explored a host of floral options and this absolute beauty - Bee and Bloom by Hattie Lloyd won hands down. We loved the navy colourway which sprung us into colour matching the existing bookcases and woodwork.

I love a bit of Mylands paint, so we used their speciality gold to highlight the picture rail before painting the top portion of the walls and ceiling in Farrow and Ball Setting Plaster.

The pink and gold tied the existing curtains in perfectly and we were very happy to find that the curtains were wide enough to fill the entire wall - so a new brass curtain rail was fitted to show off their full potential.

We reupholstered the seat of the existing armchair to tie the piece in with the rest of the room - both the eclectic feel and the colour palette before adding bamboo tables to add a natural texture.

To dress the room, we focused on reclaimed pieces and existing items from around the home that complimented each other. I love displaying functional items such as the jug - it acts as a decorative piece whilst freeing up cupboard space!
